Hello, and welcome to Grand Unified Empty! After taking a few university philosophy courses, I started developing a grand unified theory of everything, like any serious person would do. It got kind of complicated – don’t take it too seriously.
This blog started out as a way of sharing that theory with the world, but over time it’s devolved into me just writing and sharing whatever I feel like. If you’re not into philosophy don’t worry; I’ve written about psychology, anthropology, politics, poetry… all sorts of random stuff. Most of this blog predates my interest in Less Wrong, but more recently there has been a bit of overlap on those topics as well. I don’t take that too seriously either, but it’s an occasional source of interesting and weird ideas.
It’s worth noting (if it wasn’t already clear) that not everything on here necessarily reflects my real opinions. I’m liable to change my mind without updating previous posts, so anything older than a few minutes should be suspect. I also have fun exploring weird arguments sometimes just because, without actually committing to them. All of that to ask that you please don’t take anything here as the exact truth of what I actually think.
If you’re a new reader and you want something to start with, I have a quasi-history with some recommended posts for you here.
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.Douglas Adams
This blog is entirely unaffiliated with basically anything else I do, but if you’re really interested more in me personally, my homepage is over here.
I do host the occasional guest post, but only from people I know offline. As you might expect, their opinions are not my opinions, etc. etc. I maintain editorial control (for now) but I’m fairly liberal with points I may not agree with as long as they’re respectful and well-argued.
